Tucker Sadler Architects is providing complete architectural services including planning, programming, architectural and schematic design, construction documents and construction administration. The project consists of the entry rotunda, an office suite, meeting rooms, a boardroom, a lounge/library, a ballroom, a kitchen and storage areas. The design goal is to create a compact and efficient building that can be used for a variety of alumni and SDSU functions, while providing a balance to the strong shapes of the nearby athletic center. Elements complementary to existing SDSU architecture will be incorporated to blend in historically with the other campus buildings.

This new 60,000 SF, year-round elementary school will accommodate 750 students from kindergarten through sixth grade. This design has become the new “prototype” for future schools that reflects the District’s new thinking in educational facilities for the information age. The design of the school was a collaborative process among Tucker Sadler Architects, teachers, principals, maintenance personnel and specialists in educational technology.

The California State University used this project as the anchor building in re-establishing San Diego State University’s rich Spanish architectural heritage host decades ago. The use of traditional courtyards, patios and terraces in the 1000,000 SF complex, provides a simple solution to the involved program of housing numerous functions under one roof.

The Student Center is located in the heart of the San Diego State University campus. The center provides information about faculty and courses to parents and students. It also serves as a venue for special events.

Tucker Sadler Architects was retained by Grossmont Union High School District to design a new 175,000 SF 1,800 student high school. The goal of the District was to integrate technology into the instructional program, to improve the learning environment, and prepare its students for the next century. Student management systems, supervision requirements, networking, aesthetics, and the learning environment were key considerations when planning this facility.

 

miramar instructionalMIRAMAR COLLEGE INSTRUCTIONAL CENTER
San Diego, California

The Instructional Center, located on the Miramar College campus, is a 27,000 SF, two-story steel structure including general academy, science, administrative, computer classrooms and a 182-seat auditorium. The center takes advantage of its solar orientation, with a sweeping flush-glazed north face and the integration of fins and horizontal elements on the south faces, for maximum sun and light control.
